Bachelor of Laws, graduated with Honors from the Universidad Privada Boliviana. Master´s Degree in International Dispute Resolution from the University of Geneva and the Institut de Hautes Études Internationales et du Developpement (Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies - Geneva – Switzerland - 2011). Bernardo obtained a Higher Specialization in Analysis of Civil and Commercial Contracts of the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar. He also completed the External Programme of The Hague Academy of International Law as a Scholar; as well as the International Commercial Arbitration Program, Investment Arbitration and International Litigation Program jointly taught by Cornell University and the Universidad de Buenos Aires; and the Summer School in International Law Programme of the University of Heidelberg.
Bernardo has extensive experience counseling clients in national and international arbitrations, ad hoc or administered. He has actively participated as a lawyer in arbitrations under the Arbitration Rules of ICSID, CCI, UNCITRAL, CNC, Society of Engineers of Bolivia and CAINCO. He has also successfully participated in international litigation on complex contractual disputes with application of different legislations such as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Panama, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
