Lawyer Graduated with honors (Cum Laude) with a Mention of Excellence (maximum qualification) in the defense of the Final Degree Project, and with a mention in International Law from the Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB). He holds a Master’s in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement from the University of Sciences Po (Paris) where he also obtained a Diploma in FIDIC Contracts for EPC / Turnkey Construction Projects. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in International Arbitration from Universidad Privada Bolivia (UPB), where he stood out as the best student.
Since joining Wayar & von Borries in 2015, Nicolás has participated in dozens of complex civil and commercial processes. He has experience in civil, commercial, and international commercial contracting. Regarding arbitration, Nicolás has worked in multiple national and international, commercial and investment arbitrations under the rules of UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID and the National Chamber of Commerce. During 2019, Nicolás worked in the International Arbitration team of the Latham & Watkins law firm (Paris).
In the academic and research area, he is a reporter for the Young ITA Newsletter and was appointed as main author and general coordinator of the Bolivia Chapter for the Edward Elgar Encyclopedia of International Economic Law.
