Cinthya Villarroel Alarcón

Lawyer graduated with a Cum Laude degree from Panthéon-Assas University (France), whose degree was approved in Bolivia by the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. She holds a Master’s degree in International Economic Law with Cum Laude degree from Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France). Cinthya also obtained a specialization in International Commercial Litigation, with a Magna Cum Laude degree from the Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne University. She has also participated in specialized summer programs in Public International Law (The Hague Academy of International Law) and International Commercial Arbitration (American University).

Cinthya was awarded at Panthéon-Assas University for an essay on “Dialogue between Judges in the European Union” and gained experience in teaching working as a legal methodology assistant at Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

Cinthya Villarroel has particular experience representing clients in the energy, construction and mining sectors in complex litigation, national and international arbitrations, including commercial and investment arbitrations under ICC and UNCITRAL rules.

Prior to joining Wayar & von Borries, Cinthya gained experience working in competition law and international arbitration departments at the Paris offices of Weil Gotshal & Manges and Hogan Lovells LLP.

 

While practicing in Bolivia, Cinthya acquired extensive practice in civil judicial processes and served as legal advisor to the General Directorate of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
