Bachelor of Laws, graduated with top honors from Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz (UPSA) – BOLIVIA. Master’s degree in international Private Law - with honors – from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Has postgraduate degrees in Corporate Law from Universidad Católica Boliviana and the Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID), as well as in Commercial Arbitration and Investment Arbitration, the last two by the Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota (Colombia). Scholar of the 39th External Programme of The Hague Academy of International Law. Recognized by the Senate of the Plurinational State of Bolivia for its contributions to the Gas and Oil Law in the country.
Director of the Commercial/Corporate and Hydrocarbons & Energy Departments of Wayar & von Borries. He has extensive experience in counseling companies of different sectors in complex national and international transactions. Awarded by the International Gas & Energy Forum - IGEF and specialized media Reporte Energía as the "Best Lawyer in the Hydrocarbons and Energy Industry in Bolivia" for two consecutive terms (2020 and 2021). He is a member of the Board of Directors of prominent companies in the areas of retail, mining and media in Bolivia.
Iver von Borries is an Arbitrator at the Arbitration Centers of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Services and Tourism of Santa Cruz (CAINCO) and the Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons and Energy (CBHE), Arbitration Center of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce, based in Buenos Aires. He was Vice Chairman of the Bolivian Foundation for Social Development and President of the Arbitration Center of the Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons and Energy.
